Bizarre dream!

Last night I had the most bizarre dream! I was 9 months pregnant and I was getting ready for a repeat C-section. I went into the hospital and I was sitting in the operating room. I felt nervous and the nurse was asking me questions. The next thing I know I'm at home sitting on the couch holding our baby and Chris was sitting next to me. I started to feed the baby and I looked over at Chris and asked him what her name is. He said, "Elizabeth". I said, "You named her all by yourself?" He said he wanted to call her Elle for short. Not that the name isn't pretty, I honestly didn't like it for our little girl though. I'm not quite sure why we wouldn't have had a name picked out already in the first place. Very strange! Just wanted to write it down so I can look back and remember this dream!!

Wishing for summer to end!!

Yep, I said it....I want summer to end. I've never been the person who loves the summer time. I don't love the sun beating down on me, I don't like sweating, I don't like burning, I don't like smelling like sticky sunscreen, I don't like my head pounding because I'm overheating after 30 minutes in the hot, hot heat!

Last night Chris and I woke up around midnight because it was so darn hot and we were both sleeping under our down comforter like always! It was 78* in the apartment. Now this may not sound too hot to some but air circulation in our apartment is crap and we have a smaller place. 78* in my Mom's house (which is big but not huge) wouldn't feel so bad! Our place feels like you're in an oven and we are on the second floor!

After opening up all of our windows and still keeping all of our fans on...it went up to 80*. How this happens, I'm not quite sure but it happened. I happily took in the morning sun with the nice cool morning temperatures. Oh how I love the morning time. I've always been more of a morning person. I love the cool temperatures; I love how quiet and peaceful the world seems before everyone wakes up to disrupt that peace and quiet! It cooled down to 75* which felt nice but still not as cool as we like it.

I called the after hours emergency number from the apartment offices answering machine and then had to leave 3 messages over the course of 3 hours until I tried again to finally get an answer! I was told to try to change the air filter (which was disgusting by the way). I had high hopes that this was the problem. After doing that and turning the a/c back on, the air felt cool to me...of course it did, anything cooler then 80* feels cooler.

This was about 11 this morning. Fast forward to 2:20pm when Claire and I headed back home from hanging out at my Mom's all day to stay cool and to let the apartment cool down for a few hours. I walk in the door to not be welcomed by nice, cool air but to be slapped in the face with hotter air that was 86*.

I packed some shower stuff, changes of clothes and went right back over to my Mom's after calling the a/c guy. He said he would be over in 45 minutes. He called, I met him at the apartment and sure enough a part needed to be replaced on the unit. Thank goodness he fixed it and it was a quick fix that will stay that way (fingers crossed). He said "Well it's 4 o'clock now so it will until about 9 or 10pm that it will really cool down!" Ahhhhhhh!! Understandable since the bank down the street claimed it to be 103* outside, which is extremely doubtful. Here we are at 8:45 at night tired, hot and it's hanging out around 80*. It's taking it's sweet time and Claire has all of our fans pointed straight at her crib so she can sleep like the sweet angel she is!

Happy Sunday! I'm happy to have had the day over at my Mom and Joe's but I still didn't like to come home to 80*. So ready for fall. Leaves falling, sweaters, Halloween, trick or treating, Thanksgiving, and pumpkin spice candles!

Blah

I'm feeling so tired this week already and it's only Tuesday!! Tonight is my fourth night in a row at work and my last until next Monday!! Thank goodness! I'm looking forward to my 5 nights off with the people I love the most!

I'm kind of hoping to be put on call tonight again since I was called in at midnight last night! My little screecher is screeching at me so I think it's time for some play time before I have to head to work! Wish me luck for a quick 12 hours tonight!

Quiet time...

Sometimes quiet time is so nice! Claire isn't really a loud little girl but I do still enjoy my alone time and quiet time. We all took a nap this afternoon, Chris is included in that we! It was so nice and quiet in the apartment and so nice to enjoy that time together...even if we were all napping! haha It's the little things in life!

This morning we went to the Farmer's Market in downtown Boise! Claire played in the water fountains for the first time and she had fun! She didn't run right into them like she normally would but I'm thinking it's because they were really huge fountains and she's never really seen them that big before! Chris and I bought amazingly delicious breakfast burritos from one of the vendors and enjoyed the massive amount of slow walking people! After walking around for a bit we came home and eventually all ended up in bed to enjoy our nap! Talk about a lazy day!

Now that we are awake I dressed Claire up for a baby shower that she is going to with her Grandma Wold. She is also sleeping over since I have to work tonight (hate working weekends) and Chris is attending the BSU scrimmage! So jealous I can't make it. Today does make it 2 weeks from the first game day of the season for BSU and I'm so excited for all of us to wear our new jerseys, even sweet Claire bear. I just need to make her a blue and orange tutu before that day comes!! We are going to BBQ with some friends and enjoy yelling at the TV in hopes they can hear us cheering for them!

Right now I'm the only one home and the silence is kind of nice. Strange but nice! Another event I have to look forward to is coming later next week! Chris is taking a day off so we can take Claire to the Western Idaho Fair! We took her for her first time last summer when she was only 5 months old! We had her characature drawing done and I am looking forward to her second one! I think it would be fun to be able to get one for her each summer! They are also having pig races and I'm pretty excited about that as well. haha I'm happy that I'm easily entertained! Nothing is better than fun family time!

Since I'm not quite sure what to do with myself since I'm all alone in our quiet apartment until I leave for work I guess I will continue to relax! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend

Random tidbits....

Last night I was put on call for work! It's great in some ways and not so great in others!

It's great because I get an extra night at home with Chris and Claire. We relaxed, watched TV, I bathed Claire, gave her medicine and put her down for bed. I don't always get to put her down for bed on the nights I work, it all depends on how tired she is before I leave.

It isn't so great because I'm only getting paid about 1/5 of my hourly pay (thankful to be paid at all on call though) and I'm also not sure when my phone is going to blare out my ringtone in the middle of the night to call me in because they got busy somewhere in the hospital.

Some of my co-workers have mentioned that they still stay up until about 2 or 3 in the morning when they are put on call but I actually do the usual thing Chris and I normally do and go to bed at the same time we do when I don't have to work.

Wednesday night I worked so yesterday I slept from about 8am-2:30pm which is 6 1/2 hours. Then I went to bed at 10pm with Chris and slept (only waking two times because of Claire) until 6:30am which is 8 1/2 hours......that's a lot of sleep for me and I'm quite happy about that! I am working tonight, off Saturday, work Sunday and Monday. My schedule is seriously screwing this time around and I'm not a fan. I'm hoping my new schedule that comes out on the 17th is a lot better!

This morning my sweet girl and I woke up, ate some breakfast and bummed around the house! I've been anxious to get some new clothes lately after seeing all of the school clothes that are out!! I love this time of year because that means fall is getting closer! I really do love living in an area that we experience all four seasons. Usually I'm looking forward to spring weather and warming up after the winter but by the time it gets to August I'm done with summer and looking forward to fall and winter time again. Anyway, we made our way to Target and found some super cute things. I'm trying to buy just a little bit at a time like my Mom has always suggested. It's easier to do a couple things here and there instead of all at once! Too spendy that way!

Yesterday I purchased Claire's first Christmas present for this year!! Yes I'm crazy to start this early but maybe I'm not so crazy. If I start early enough by the time Christmas is here I won't have to shop around with crazy Christmas shoppers and stand in long lines!! I know Claire won't need much this Christmas. Mostly clothes since she's growing like a weed! I think I want to try to make her something special this year. Not sure what that will be yet.

Halloween is coming up in a couple months and I'm hoping to make her Halloween costume this year. I think it would be so funny if she was an orange traffic cone since Chris auto crosses. I could make it out of felt or something and put a little orange bow on it so people know she's a girl...not that a bow or pink really helps, but that's a different story!

I guess I'll wrap this up for today since I'm rambling about a bunch of random things. I need to keep up on this more often so I'm hoping this will be the start of more to come!
