Going to hell in a handbasket...

I googled where the meaning originated from and linked it for you here to read if you'd like. I thought of this while I was reading yet another link someone posted on facebook about 50 Shades of Grey. It makes me laugh that there is so much hype like its the first movie of it's kind. There was the movie Unfaithful and I'm sure hundreds of others that I can't think of at the moment with sexual scenes. Maybe they were ranted about as well but 50 Shades of Grey is the new one to rant about. I guess I'm going to hell in a handbasket for reading it and enjoying it. *SPOILER* The third book was my favorite when they were on their honeymoon in France and had a baby. I look forward to seeing the movies eventually. I won't have time this weekend since we are moving or else I'd be seeing it. I enjoy the many other books that are written with similar story lines and the sex and the love story that goes along with the sex. Do I love my husband any less? No. Do I fantasize about those men in the books? No. Do I feel less connected to my husband from this book/movie? No. Will I cheat on my husband because of reading books like this? No. My hubby is my one and only. Literally the one and only! I'm already going to hell in a handbasket for many other reasons that some consider sins but oh well. I don't think reading this book or anything similar makes a person a bad person. It's a story. It doesn't define the reader. If it does then I guess I'm one of those awful people you should cut out of your life for reading this book. If you really know me though then you'll know I'm not a terrible person. I'm a wife, mother, daughter, sister and I do my best to be a good person everyday. I have many friends who are completely against it and I am cool with it. I have many friends who are all for it and I'm cool with it. I find humor in the posts for and against it and I wanted to be a cool kid and post about it too!

Now onto the daily grind, a little update from what's going on lately. The girls had checkups at the doctor yesterday afternoon due to a lingering cold, cough and Claire complained of ear pain briefly yesterday. She hasn't ever had an ear infection that we've been aware of and this one probably would have gone by undetected if she hadn't mentioned it. Her friends stopped by on their way home from the school bus stop to see if she could play and she told me her ear didn't hurt anymore and she didn't need a check up. Nice try missy! Sure enough she actually has a double ear infection. She still says it doesn't hurt. Normally I'd just let it run it's course if it wasn't causing her any discomfort but since we will be on the road for our big move to Georgia this Sunday I didn't want to risk it turning into a big ordeal. Kellyn has fluid but it's clear and not infected. Fingers crossed it stays that way. She's only had one ear infection but she healed quickly with antibiotics. They are both napping now to fight off this bug!!

Jake had a spa day at Petsmart this morning. He had an oatmeal bath (due to dry, itchy skin), his ears cleaned, his nails trimmed and lots of loves from the groomer. I'd bathe him at home except he clogs the drain with the crazy amount of hair he sheds. He smells wonderful and his coat feels really soft! I also scored some fish oil capsules on clearance for him to hopefully help with his itchy skin. Don't worry, it's not fleas. We've checked.

We are getting our U-Haul trailer tomorrow morning, Chris is taking the Xterra into the dealership early for an oil change and full system flush/tune up or whatever it's called. All new tires, even the spare tire now and we just need to replace the windshield wipers and we will be all set for 2600 miles of driving!! We also moved up our moving truck reservation for tomorrow afternoon instead of Friday morning. Chris's coworkers are all coming over Friday morning to help pack us up and we are so grateful for them offering their help!

I'm looking forward to dinner with some friends tonight! The next few days are going to be crazy busy and somewhat hectic but we will pull through and be on the road by Sunday!! Butterflies in my stomach from excitement and nervousness. It's going to be a great, new chapter in the Wold family!

Let the countdown begin...

Today is our very last Monday in Oregon. It was strange this afternoon not having the barn to look forward to. We made a trip to the library and had fun. It was so strange walking out without any books or movies. We usually check out a couple bags full at a time. The girls played with other kids and played around on the computer. Claire discovered the magnet board and found out that some magnets push away from each other instead of stick together. She thought it was cool. I think I'll look into a magnet kit for them once we are in Georgia.

We spent the morning with friends. Claire has been pretty emotional the past few days. She's always emotional but it's coming out more lately. She was sad this morning and told me she doesn't want to move away. She told me she likes living here. I told her that I feel sad too sometimes and it's ok to feel that way. I want her to be able to tell me how she's feeling always. I told her that we can feel sad but we can feel excited to the new adventures we will have in Georgia. We will meet new friends but still keep in touch with our friends we have now. That seemed to make her feel better. This move is much different from when we moved before her 2nd birthday. She's much more aware of what's going on.

The girls are in the tub and it's almost time for jammies and a story! I'm looking forward to another mellow day tomorrow. That's about it for our day!
