Georgia Peaches

It's been a while since I've updated. We are settling in and enjoying Georgia. I'll have to actually update with pictures from our move but who knows if I'll make the time for that. Maybe its silly to say since its only been a month but it feels like home here. I felt at home in Oregon but it feels different here. We are planning on buying a house next year. I can envision us here long term. Maybe I didn't feel that way in Oregon because it was our first big move and the feeling of being homesick to be near our parents was there basically the first year we lived there. This is so different, I'm not pregnant and adjusting to more kids after moving from family so it doesn't feel quite as stressful even though it was a 2600 mile move. It wasn't a piece of cake to move that far but I feel good about being here. Chris said I'll probably change my mind once summer and humidity hits. I'm thankful for central air!! I'm not saying I didn't love Oregon though. I loved living close to my brother and soon to be sister in law and Oregon is just beautiful and we made wonderful friends there!

The girls and I have met some really great friends. I didn't expect it to happen so quickly but it just feels like its where we are supposed to be. I feel like I've found my tribe and I haven't even met everyone in the group.

The girls are doing great. They miss their friends but have been having fun talking on the phone and putting letters in the mail. They are having a blast meeting new friends and doing fun things. A friend told us about Natural Learning Alternative and we've gone just about every week. Its an alternative preschool and the parents stay and the kid get to do lots of different hands on things. I look forward to it just as much as the girls so we can see friends!! Jake is doing well. He had to get used to hard wood floors which is still a challenge at times. Even when his nails are cut short he still manages to slide everywhere. He is also mastering the stairs. He still hesitates to get going up but does great coming down. He's been outside a lot more here and has a bigger space to explore out back. He's also been a couple trails with us and I hope to do that a lot more this spring before it gets too hot out.

I saw a Facebook post today from a friend about Forest Kindergarten and some other friends have been talking about it. I'm going to learn more about it and I think it'd be amazing and so fun to start something like it for my girls and all the kids in our group. In Oregon we were apart of the Little Villagers class that was for Homeschoolers. We took the kids to the park rain or shine to play and they loved it. Teacher Terry told me she hoped we would find a good homeschooling community and she encouraged me that if we couldn't find what we were looking for then to create it myself. Village Home all started from a mother wanting to form a homeschooling community for her kids and other Homeschoolers. Maybe this Forest kindergarten can really turn into something great!

My oldest baby is 5 now!! Its unreal!! I asked her what she wants to learn about this spring and this is what she told me: How flowers grow, how to dig a hole to plant a seed, learn about rocks, learn about what a chef's house looks like because they have 100 gredients (that's what she calls them). I also asked her a little while ago what she wants to learn for Kindergarten and this was her list: How big mountains are and build block mountains, how do you grow up from being a baby?, what it looks like inside your body, learn about cowgirls and how to ride horses, how do fingernails grow, and how do plants grow. I didn't realize she mentioned plants two separate times. I think we will start with plants first! Kellyn said she wants to learn about chips.... she was eating chips when I asked so that makes sense. We maybe have to try to bake our own potato chips soon!

That's it for now. I need to get some dinner cooking before the girls start asking for snacks!!
