Christmas Night with my Sweet Girl

Christmas was a wonderful day!!  Last night when we put Claire to bed she wasn't ready to fall asleep. This isn't unusual for her. Sometimes I don't mind it and other times it can be a little frustrating because Chris and I are both so tired and ready to rest for the night. Last night I was feeling a little frustrated. It's been a long couple weeks with all of us being sick and the excitement from Christmas day had drained me. I reminded myself that sometimes I just need to relax and just listen to what Claire has to say. She obviously wants to talk to me. She told me about Santa eating the cookies and how she wanted to eat the rest of Santa's cookies. I told her we can bake sugar cookies again soon. She told me about her toys and her movies and she was so happy while she told me about them. It was nice to hear her thoughts and know she had a wonderful Christmas. It's moments like this that I cherish and I feel so lucky to be her Mommy. I hope I never forget to just slow down and listen to her, she has a lot to say. We snuggled and I said it was time for bed and she got upset. She said she wanted to open her presents. I held her in my arms on her bed and told her that we had so much fun opening presents and we will open presents again on another day. We talked about all of her fun toys to play with in the morning but they are ready for bed and need to sleep before they can be played with again. She's such a sweet girl and I'm so happy to watch her grow into the little lady she's becoming. I'm looking forward to the New Year and I'm wishing for another fun and happy year with the ones I love the most!

Winter Wonderland

I love when our babies play nicely together! Claire is such a great big sister!

 One morning I was changing Kellyn's diaper by the kitchen on the floor. I could see outside in the backyard and I thought there was a cat under the BBQ. I told Claire to look at the cat....she went to look, I noticed it wasn't moving quite like a cat so I thought it was a racoon. I couldn't see it that well. Then I realized it had no hair on its tail and it was a possum. Haha. I grabbed my camera but the little guy moved too fast. It ran off the deck and squeezed under the fence before I got a good picture of it. It was pretty neat, we haven't seen it since though.

 Here we are at the library for story time. Claire gets so shy and insists on sitting on my lap. Kellyn does so well. She sits on her little letter square they give out to each kid to sit on and she actually listens to the lady while she reads stories!

 We celebrated my birthday on the 14th. I made cupcakes in the morning and spent the day with the girls. Chris had to work but he brought home a pizza for dinner and we all went to the raceway to drive through the light displays they have! It was a nice way to celebrate! The only downfall was the kiddos started to get sick the day before!

 We came back to the car to grab our food and found a car like this. I don't think it hit the other car but apparently the E-break didn't work or wasn't used and it just slid backward. 

 I was tired after a few hours of boarding so I warmed up in the lodge for a little while!

 We experienced our first Zoo Lights this year. It was freezing but so fun!

 She's growing up so fast. I've had to trim her hair twice now so it's not in her eyes.

 The neighbor girls came over to play. They are 4 year old twins. I gave the girls snacks and put a movie on. It was fun having some of her little friends over to play.
