Lately I keep feeling an extreme amount of mommy guilt. I don't have the slightest clue where it's coming from but it's really starting to irritate me. I feel guilty as if I'm not doing my best as a Mom for Claire. I feel like I could be doing more but my goodness how can I seriously entertain a 22 month old for 6 hours in the morning, put her down for a nap and then entertain her for the remaining 5-6 hours of her afternoon before bedtime and still do the things I need to get done while also taking small breaks since I'm now 26 weeks pregnant!?
I know that I am not sitting around the house doing nothing. I make breakfast, lunch and dinner. I do dishes everyday and after every meal. I do a load of laundry almost everyday to stay on top of it or at least every other day. I grocery shop, I balance the check book. I've been working on our taxes, I vacuum, mop, change bed sheets, change diapers, pick up toys, color, sing silly songs, read books to Claire, take her to the Children's Museum at least once a week and try to get together for play dates. I also have doctor's appointments, make my hubby his lunches and all sorts of other things!
So why do I feel like I'm not doing enough for her? I'm thinking it may be a little anxiety about how things will be once our baby girl arrives in May. Things will be different. Will I have enough time? Will I give our girls enough attention that they need? I'm sure I will but like every parent you always have doubts and want to try to do your best for your babies.
I know things will work out, they always do in some way or another. I know I will be a great Mommy to both of our girls and I know I'm a good Mommy to Claire bear now I just want to be sure I do what's right for her and give her the love she needs every day! Being a Mom is so stressful and so rewarding at the same time!
