I found this idea off of Pinterest (love!!) and I really wanted to make it for Claire!! I found this TV stand on Craigslist for $20 so I bought it! I brought it with me and the girls to Idaho so Joe could help me with it since we don't have the right tools for it. He cut the hole on the top for the sink and I got to sanding the rest of it! I was thinking it would be a project I would work on for her from now until Christmas time and have it ready by then but we got it all done within the week!
I got to use the sander!
Here it is all sanded and ready to be painted!
Shortly after I bought this off of craigslist I started looking online to check prices for sandpaper. I looked on the Ace Hardware website and they had a coupon for one day to get a free quart of paint! I was pretty excited so I picked the color 'Daddy's Little Girl' and got it for free!
Joe spray painted 4 of my old CD's that I don't listen to so they can look like little stove top burners!
I bought some wooden knobs and the silver knobs for the doors. Joe spray painted the wooden knobs purple and they spin. The purple handle pulls the door down for the oven part.
All finished!! Claire likes it. She's seen it and says it's cute. I am going to either buy or make pot holders and towels to go with it. I also am going to get some little pots and pans and a basket to hold her plastic food in. I was going to paint one side with magnetic/chalkboard paint but it was $22 for magnetic paint and $15 for chalkboard paint...way too much money. I will just buy a chalkboard and put it on the side. There are also 2 purple hooks on the right side of the cabinet so she can hang things from them. I am looking forward to Christmas. This will be covered in a sheet in the garage until then. I hope Claire forgets about it for the next few months!
