Thanksgiving 2012

Here's my little helper getting ready to make her first pumpkin pie.

Good morning...it is now Thanksgiving morning. My little helper was again ready to help me with a new recipe. We made Pumpkin cream cheese Cinnamon Rolls....in the nude! ;0) ha Don't worry, I was fully clothed. She refused to wear clothes except for her apron! I normally won't post pictures like this but it's too cute to not share with the family!

 I got the recipe from Pinterest so I had it up on the iPad!! Such a great little cookbook sometimes!

 Again, little sis was making sure we were doing it right!

 Sweet girl didn't want to have her hair done at first but I insisted (which I rarely do these days) and she loved it! I thought she looked so adorable. And of course, Mommy fail, I forgot to take a picture of Kellyn on her first Thanksgiving in her little pumpkin dress with her little brown pants on under it since it was super short. haha

We had a fun Thanksgiving this year!! We were fortunate enough to share it with my brother, Danny, here in Oregon this year! My Mom and Joe drove here too and that was so great! I wish we could have shared it with all of our family!! We also got to share it with some great friends as well! Claire helped me make her very first pumpkin pie the day before!! She was such a great helper and also very excited that I finally fixed her apron. The strap broke off of it a while ago and it was time to get it fixed.

 6 months old and she fell asleep on me while drinking her bottle. She hasn't done this since she was itty bitty.

 Grandma bought some really cute new flannel sheets for Claire bears bed!! Her new jammies match too!

 She loves to move the ornaments around on the tree...it's pretty much an hourly thing throughout the day.

 Claire kept going behind the couch and Christmas tree so I taped/pinned up some construction paper and Christmas color pages for her. I set up a small bowl of crayons and big pillow and a blanket so she can have her own little space behind the tree!

Tuesday Afternoon

As I'm in my bedroom this afternoon the girls are playing next to each other on the floor. I enjoy watching Ellen each afternoon when I get the chance so that's on while I'm folding some laundry and putting it away. It's getting closer to Kellyn's afternoon nap time so I make her a bottle and sit for a little bit with her to feed her. Of course she needs a diaper change afterward so I lay her on the ground. Claire is still quietly sitting in her chair eating popcorn and watching Curious George on the iPad (this this is amazing when I need a little time to get certain things done). For this next part I can say I'm so glad to have girls. Kellyn was all ready to go and I just needed to slide her clean diaper under her bum. She peed on the floor. *Sigh* She hasn't done this since she was teeny tiny and in her crib. Somehow she would pee all over her crib and it just happened to be when I was picking her legs up in the air to slide her diaper under her so that also meant she would pee up on herself and all over her clothes! It was funny and time consuming to have to change her, the crib, give her a bath, etc etc.

Anyway, as I'm finishing getting her diaper on and moving her away from the wet carpet Claire stands up and tells me she needs to go potty. She still had her pull up on from her nap. She rips one side open and lets it slide down her legs to the ground. She tries to step out of it but steps back onto her pull up and it wasn't just wet inside. *Sigh* She steps inside and then quickly steps onto the carpet! I hurry to get her foot cleaned up and another spot on the carpet now too. Once I get her cleaned up she is running free and naked around the house now. I finally get the diaper and pull up in the trash! All I wanted to do was enjoy watching the Ellen show while the girls played quietly on the ground next to each other! Now my room smells like a dirty diaper and I need to spot clean to make sure the smells don't stay! I'm glad I can find the humor in it while it's happening. Sometimes I forget to do that but I try hard each time to just go with the flow. If my girls learn to go with the flow I will be happy, I just wish when they go with the flow it isn't all over my carpet.

Time for a change...

Gonna try to just blog a bit more from time to time with updates about our little family! I'm feeling like I'm too distracted some days and I'm over it. I don't have time to be so distracted, I feel its taking away from my family. I do love keeping in touch with people and maybe I'll join the facebook world again but for now I feel this is what is right for me. I was snuggled up with Claire in her bed tonight and I was just listening to her breathe while she slept and I just don't want to miss out on moments like this if I don't have to. There will come a day when she doesn't ask for me to lay with her anymore and I will regret the nights I didn't snuggle up to her! Sometimes I feel I was born in the wrong time period...and then I remember that I have the power to turn it off. So I am.

I'm not a writer or a great blogger but I feel it will be more of a family journal/photo album for myself to look back over time! It's not going to be a daily thing or even a weekly thing. It will just be when I decide to make the time for it. Take care!
